Mangaluru: Popular Front of India activists on Friday held a protest near Hampankatte, Mangaluru condemning the alleged police violence against its activists in Uppinangady.
The protestors were seen holding PFI flags and posters. Police personnel have been deployed near the protest site.
It may be recalled that police had to resort to lathi-charge on Tuesday, December 14 as PFI continued to hold protests in front of the station demanding the release of its leaders arrested by Uppinangady police.
The situation turned tense as several persons were injured and section 144 was clamped down to control the situation.
