Mangaluru: A police inspector attached to the traffic police department was suspended on Monday.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar ordered the suspension of Inspector Mohammed Shareef from the Mangaluru North Traffic Police station.
The Compol cited Shreef’s recent personal foreign tour without informing the competent authorities as the reason for the suspension of the officer.
As per rules, police officials are required to inform the higher authorities in case they go on a foreign visit.
Inspector Shareef had applied went on leave on 16 March. However, after the initial tour to Ajmer, he had been to Dubai without consent from the DGP.
The matter came to light after Inspector Shareef arrived in Mangaluru from Dubai on Monday, following which he has been suspended until further orders.
