Mangaluru: Police crack theft cases — Six arrested; cash, goods worth lakhs recovered

Mangaluru: The police have arrested six people in connection with thefts at a shop and a house in the city. Stolen items worth several lakhs have been recovered from the accused.

Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal said that police arrested 2 persons in connection with the theft at a shop in the Pumpwell area, under the Kankanady Police Station limits on July 8. The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Nazir Houseil Khan (27) and Ilyas Khan, both natives of Uttar Pradesh. Stolen cash worth Rs. 10 lakhs has been recovered from them.

In the other case, four individuals have been arrested for burglary at a house in the Konaje Police Station limits. The accused are Mohammad Siyab, Mohammad Arfaz, Safwan, and Mohammad Jamsheer. The police have seized gold jewellery and other items worth Rs. 12.50 lakhs from them, Agrawal said.
