Mangaluru: Police involvement suspected in a missing Jaguar case

Mangaluru: A luxury car worth Rs 50 lakhs seized from Mangaluru City Police is reportedly missing
The luxury car along with two other cars, have been taken into custody by Delhi-based people accused in connection with a cheating case.
Eliya Construction and Builders Pvt Ltd at Udane in Kadaba taluk was set up by three people from Kerala, who offered to double the investment and collected over ten crore rupees. The accused escaped from thereafter the investors complained to the police, who later opened an office in Mangaluru.
A woman from Shaktipura in Mangaluru had invested Rs 4.5 lac in the company. After knowing that she was fooled, she filed a complaint in narcotics and economic offences police station.
The police started a probe and ended up seizing three cars- BMW, Porsche and Jaguar.
The BMW is with the city police commissioner, Porsche near the CCB office and the Jaguar has gone missing. The accused after being released from judicial custody claimed the cars.
As per reports, the Jaguar has been sold and an attempt to sell Porsche was made.
The reports reveal that two officers involved with the incident were transferred. The officers allegedly sought money to close the case to which the accused replied that they don’t have money and that they could sell the car, following which Jaguar was sold.
The senior officials, taking serious note of the incident, have asked the car to be produced forthwith.
“A search has been launched for the missing car,” asserted the police.
