Mangaluru police recommend suspension of 298 driving licences for traffic violations

Mangaluru: Mangaluru Police Commissionerate has recommended the suspension of Driving Licences (DLs) 298 drivers for traffic violations.
The Police Commissionerate has sent a proposal to the Regional Transport Office to this effect under the Indian Penal Code 1860 and the Indian Motor Vehicle Act-1988/2019
The violations happened in a 15-day period from August 6 to August 20. In a special operation, Mangalore Police Commissionerate has registered 593 cases were registered for violation of parking rules, 106 for using loud horns, 70 for using tinted glass, 13 for charging high fares by autorickshaws, and 28 for driving on the wrong side.
