Mangaluru police seek public’s help in tracing murdered labourer’s kin

Mangaluru: The local police have appealed to the public for assistance in tracing the address and kin of a labourer who was burned to death by his employer at Mulihitlu recently.

Police said the murder victim was known to the locals as Gajnana alias Jaggu. He is believed to be from North India, but unfortunately, his true identity and personal details remain unknown.

To aid in their investigation, the police released a physical description of the victim. Gajnana was approximately 5.5 feet tall with a dark complexion, muscular build, with black hair, and a bushy beard.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information about Gajwan’s family or acquaintances to come forward and contact the Mangaluru South Police Station at 0824-2220518.

In connection with the murder, the shop owner Tausif Hussain, originally from Belur in Hassan, has been taken into custody. Following a court hearing, Hussain has been remanded to 15 days of judicial custody.
