Mangaluru: The city police force will launch a month-long workshop for residents of Dakshina Kannada district who are interested to join the police.
Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that although the city commissionerate is more than 10 years old not even 10 per cent of its workforce gets selected from the Dakshina Kannada district.
“Hence we decided to hold a 30-day crash course for 100 aspirants with department’s experts as the trainers,” Kumar added.
The workshop will start on Monday and those interested must bring a physical test certificate issued to them during their earlier attempts during sub-inspector or police constable recruitment drive.
The workshop will be free with accommodation and food provided.
