Mangaluru: After almost 70 days, the private buses resumed operation in Dakshina Kannada on Monday, June 1.
However, private buses witnessed poor service on their first trips with just one or two passengers travelling.
Before resuming operations sanitization work for all the buses was undertaken at State Bank bus stand. The buses were sanitized inside and out.
Sanitizers will sprayed even on seats, footboards etc after every trip.
Private buses are a major mode of transportation in Mangaluru and it has been decided to initially operate 50% to 60% of the buses on various routes. Depending on the demand from the people, the number of buses will be increased on various routes.
