Mangaluru: PWD official caught accepting bribe

Mangaluru: A junior engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) while accepting a bribe, Lokayukta police said on Wednesday, October 18.
The official has been identified as Ronald Lobo, who was posted as a junior engineer at the quality assurance division at Bondel, Mangaluru office of the PWD.
According to Lokayukta police, Lobo had demanded a sum of Rs 20,000 allegedly in exchange for expediting the bill clearance for road works. He was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount from a contractor.
The raid was carried out under the supervision of Lokayukta SP C A Simon and DySP Cheluvaraj, police added.
