Mangaluru: Seventeen hotels and twelve hostels have been set up as quarantine centres for repatriated Indians arriving at the Mangaluru International Airport on May 12.
This was announced at a meeting held at the City Corporation by Rahul Shinde, IAS officer assigned to handle the quarantining of Indians arriving in special flights under the Vande Bharat Mission.
Shinde further elaborated on the arrangements made for arriving Indians.
Officials appointed at the airport will receive the passengers and after a health check-up will classify them under Category A or B.
Those showing symptoms of fever and cold will be classified under Category A and will be moving to Wenlock hospital.
Other asymptomatic passengers will be quarantined in either a hostel or hotel. If the passenger chooses to quarantine in a hotel then the reservation of the hotel room will be done online at the airport before moving the passenger to the hotel.
