Mangaluru: Re-works on Kulur bridge causes traffic jam

Mangaluru: Works on the Kulur bridge to patch up potholes started on Monday causing the highway to be blocked for more than an hour.

The old Kulur bridge was completely damaged a few years back disrupted the traffic flow over it. After widespread outrage from the public, the bridge and the road over it was repaired last year.

However, the pre-monsoon showers caused the road on the bridge to develop several potholes which were being repaired on June 14.

Motorists stuck in the traffic jam complained that the works could have been done during the lockdown or after 10 am when the lockdown relaxation ends and vehicle traffic stops rather than early in the morning.
