Mangaluru: Residents tread dangerously next to open drain to reach home

Mangaluru: The residents of Pandelu within Gurupur gram panchayat here have been for years walking on the edge of a drain to reach their house.
Rains make the situation even more dangerous.
A narrow trail on the side of the drain from their residences in Pandelu to the main road approximately 500 metres away is the only access route as no other roads lead to Pandelu.
Residents say that they have for years requested the panchayat to construct a road without any response.
