Mangaluru: SDPI organises ‘SP kacheri chalo’ rally; called off after meeting with ComPol

Mangaluru: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) on January 15 organised a rally here protesting the arrest of its workers accused of shouting pro-Pakistan slogans on vote counting day of the recently concluded gram panchayat elections.

The rally was planned to the office of the district’s Superintendent of Police to demand the release of the arrested accused.

The rally was called off midway after city police commissioner N Shashikumar arrived to meet the protesting workers.
