Mangaluru: Incidents of serial robbery were reported from Gurpur, Mudabidri and Bajpe on Wednesday.
The culprits, who were in two cars, first attacked two houses at Todar and Gandhinagar. They stole money kept in a Maruti Omni car in front of one house and also broke the windshield of another car parked at the other house.
The gang escaped just before the residents of the house woke up to check the noise outside.
Later, the gang stopped vehicles on the Bikarnakatte-Sanur stretch of the National Highway 169 and robbed the travellers of money and mobile phones.
The incidents took place early in the morning of March 31 when vehicular and people traffic was less.
Mangaluru Commissioner of Police N Shashi Kumar visited all three robbery sites.
Police have started an investigation.
