Mangaluru: Seven wanted in mulitple chain snatching, theft cases across district arrested

Mangaluru: The city police have arrested seven persons who were wanted in 24 cases of chain-snatching, theft across the district.

The arrested accused have been identified as Abdul Isham (26) and Mohammed Tausif (30) from Kavoor, Safwan (29) from Panjimogaru, Abdul Khader (30) from Shaktinagar, Mohammed Fazal (32) from Mallur, Arshad (42) from Chokkabettu and Mohammed Rehman (23) from Kundapur.

The accused have various cases registered against them in Bajpe, Mangaluru North, Barke, Kavoor, Urwa, Mangaluru east, Mangaluru town and Ullal.  The cases include chain-snatching, bike theft, robbery case, and assault on police.

City Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that officials have seized Rs 10 lakh worth 210 gram gold chain, Mangalasutra and Rs 2 lakh worth 3 two-wheelers, jewellery items and 5 motorcycles from their possession.
