Mangaluru: Sinkhole on Padil underpass road before opening for public

Mangaluru: A 3-feet deep crater developed on the new road leading to the railway underpass at Padil on the National Highway 75.
The underpass was to be inaugurated soon.
The small chunk of the road fell in when a road roller passed over to level the tar applied on the road.
It is being alleged that an underground drain was not covered while building the road which led to the part of the road caving in.
Both railway and highway authorities have pointed fingers at each other for the mishap.
