Mangaluru: Soldierathon Vijay Run and Cycling Event – to be held on Dec 17

Soldierathon Vijay Run and Cycling event will be held on Sunday, December 17 to commemorate India’s historic victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war.

Organized by Fitistan – Ek Fit Bharat, this event aims not only to celebrate the triumph of the Indian Armed Forces but also to raise funds in support of the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre in Pune, which assists wounded soldiers in their treatment and rehabilitation.

Starting from Kadri Park, War Memorial, Opposite Circuit House at 6.15 AM, the event will see runners covering a 5 km stretch and cyclists taking on a 10 km route along the Airport Road. Participants who register for the event will receive T-shirts, medals, and e-certificates signed by Gen VK Singh, the former Chief of Army and current Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways.

Those interested in a 2 km run or walk can also participate by registering for the event.

Fitistan – Ek Fit Bharat, an initiative founded by Major Dr. Surendra Poonia, VSM (Ex-Special Forces), and Mrs. Shilpa Bhagat (2013 Mrs. India World), has organized the Soldierathon event across 240+ cities in India on 17th December 2023. Gen V K Singh, the former Chief of Army and the current Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, serves as the patron for this movement, a press release said.
