Mangaluru: Special express train between Mangaluru junction and Kochuveli to ease holiday rush

Mangaluru: To accommodate the increased passenger traffic due to the festive season, a special express train will run between Mangaluru Junction and Kochuveli.

Train number 06157 Kochuveli-Mangaluru Junction Special Express will depart from Kochuveli on October 14 at 9:25 PM and reach Mangaluru Junction at 9:15 AM the next day. In the reverse direction, train number 06158 Mangaluru Junction-Kochuveli Special Express will depart Mangaluru Junction on October 15 at 8:10 PM and arrive in Kochuveli at 8:00 AM the following day.

This train will have stops at Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur Junction, Ernakulam Junction, Alappuzha, Kayamkulam Junction, and Kollam Junction. It will comprise 14 second-class coaches, one generator car, and one second-class luggage/brake van.

Extended Schedule for Kacheguda-Mangaluru Train

The schedule for the Kacheguda-Mangaluru Central-Kacheguda Superfast Express has been extended to Murudeshwar from October 12, and the updated timings are as follows:

Train number 12789 Kacheguda-Murudeshwar Express will depart from Kacheguda at 6:05 AM (Tuesdays and Fridays) starting from October 11, arriving at Mangaluru Central at 9:30 AM, and departing at 9:40 AM. The train will have stops at Surathkal (10:32 AM arrival/10:34 AM departure), Mulki (10:44 AM/10:46 AM), Udupi (11:40 AM/11:42 AM), Barkur (11:54 AM/11:56 AM), Kundapura (12:10 PM/12:12 PM), Byndoor Mookambika Road (12:56 PM/12:58 PM), and Bhatkal (1:40 PM/1:42 PM), reaching Murudeshwar at 2:05 PM.

Train number 12790 Murudeshwar-Kacheguda Express will depart Murudeshwar at 3:30 PM (Thursdays and Sundays) starting from October 12. It will have stops at Bhatkal (3:42 PM/3:44 PM), Byndoor (3:54 PM/3:56 PM), Kundapura (4:30 PM/4:32 PM), Barkur (4:50 PM/4:52 PM), Udupi (5:08 PM/5:10 PM), Mulki (6:02 PM/6:04 PM), Surathkal (6:30 PM/6:32 PM), and Mangaluru Central (7:55 PM/8:05 PM), reaching Kacheguda at 11:40 PM.

The train will run as a superfast service between Kacheguda and Mangaluru Central but as a non-superfast train between Mangaluru Central and Murudeshwar, as per the Southern Railway’s announcement.
