Mangaluru: Sri Sugunendra Theertha Sripada of Puthige Matha receives civic reception

Mangaluru: Sri Sugunendra Theertha Sripada of the Sri Puthgie Matha was accorded a grand civic reception at the Ramakrishna Mandira on Sunday, January 7.
The event began with a procession where the Puthige Sri accompanied by his disciple Sri Sushreendra Theertha Sripada, were carried on a chariot. Musical ensembles led the way, followed by students dancing to the rhythm, accompanied by a devoted gathering of followers.
The procession that began from the Sharavu Mahaganapati temple, traversed to Venkataramana temple, and various Acharya Mathas before concluding at the Ramakrishna Mandira.
Esteemed guests, including representatives from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and local political figures such as M.B. Puranik, Executive President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Dakshina Pranta, MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA Y. Bharath Shetty, Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur, and MLC Pratap Simha Nayak, expressed their admiration for the seer’s tireless efforts in preserving Hindu culture globally.
In response, the revered seer emphasized the Bhagavad Gita’s relevance in resolving modern-day issues, intending to make this Paryaya a ‘Vishwa Gita Paryaya.’ He underscored the Gita’s teachings as a pathway to an ideal and fulfilling life, aspiring to embed its essence in every household.
