Mangaluru: Stay order issued against construction of temporary shops in Nehru Maidan

Mangaluru: A stay order has been issued against the construction of temporary shops at Nehru Maidan to accommodate the Central market vendors.
The petitioners Vijay Suvarna, Mohammed Hussain, Anthony Sebastian Fernandes and eleven others had approached the high court seeking a stay on the construction activity.
A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice A S Oka and Justice Nataraj passed the verdict today.
The MCC had undertaken the construction of stalls at the playground to accommodate the vendors who would be affected by the proposed demolition of Central Market.
