Mangaluru: Temple structure discovered while demolishing mosque

Mangaluru: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has requested the concerned officials to cancel a mosque’s permit in Tenka Ulipadi village after an ancient temple was discovered after the Masjid was demolished.
The temple was discovered during the demolition of the Assayid Abdulahil Madani Juma Masjid for the renovation of the mosque.
It is said that the mosque was built after destroying the temple.
After the incident came to light the Vishwa Hindu Parishad had requested the concerned officials to cancel the permit of the mosque and order a probe.
Meanwhile, the district administration has urged the people to maintain peace. The history of land records is being checked. It also has ordered that the structure remain in place until further orders are issued.
