Mangaluru: Three arrested for illicit sale of MDMA

The CCB police have apprehended three individuals from Madikeri involved in the illicit sale of the narcotic substance MDMA. The arrested accused include Pramod (30) from Koinoor, Madikeri taluk, Mohammed Rasheed (41) from Shakti Prasad Residency near Convent Junction, Madikeri taluk, and Darshan (24) from Kadagadalu post and village in Madikeri taluk.
Acting on credible information that these three individuals were allegedly peddling the illegal drug MDMA near Blue Star Lodge in Falnir, within the jurisdiction of the Mangaluru North Police Station, the CCB police conducted a successful raid, apprehending the suspects.
During the operation, the police seized a total of 15 grams of the banned drug MDMA, with an estimated value of Rs 75,000. The authorities also confiscated a digital weighing scale and mobile phones from the accused, which combined have an estimated value of Rs 20,000.
One of the arrested individuals, Pramod, is reportedly facing multiple charges, including murder in the Sullia police station of Dakshina Kannada district, attempted murder in the Barke police station of Mangaluru city, as well as extortion and robbery cases in the Madikeri city police station.
Mohammed Rasheed, another of the accused, has a robbery case registered against him in the Bhagamandala police station of Madikeri district, along with charges of murder, robbery, and extortion in the Madikeri city police station. Additionally, Darshan S is facing a case of attempted murder, registered in the Madikeri city police station.
The operation was executed under the supervision of Mangaluru city police commissioner Anupam Agarwal, Law and Order DCP Siddhartha Goyal, and Crime and Traffic Division DCP Dinesh Kumar, and was led by ACP P A Hegde of the Mangaluru CCB unit.
