A teenager riding on a two-wheeler was killed after being knocked down by a tipper lorry on Saturday evening.
The deceased, Sharafuddin (16), a resident of Adyar Padavu, was riding a pillion with his friend on a two-wheeler.
The lorry reportedly swerved left and brushed against the scooter that was moving from Sahyadri College towards Mangaluru. Sharafuddin, who hit the road, and died of the severe injuries sustained.
The other scooter rider received minor injuries and is said to be out of danger.
