Mangaluru: The repair works on the Ullala Netravathi Bridge along National Highway 66 commenced today leading to a severe traffic disruption here.
Meanwhile the Mangaluru City Police issued a traffic advisory as the repair work, which will continue for approximately 10 days would, impact traffic flow between Kerala, Talapady, Thokkottu, and Mangaluru, particularly during peak hours.
With vehicles moving at a slower pace due to the ongoing work, the Mangaluru City Traffic Police have made alternative arrangements to ensure smoother traffic movement. A bi-directional traffic system has been temporarily implemented using the open median near the bridge to facilitate vehicle movement on the opposite lane.
City police commissioner has requested motorists and commuters to remain vigilant and cooperate with the authorities to minimize inconvenience during this period.
