Mangaluru: Mahesh Motors owner Prakash Shekha found dead; suicide suspected

Mangaluru: Prakash Shekha (42), the owner of Mahesh Motors buses was found dead in his flat in the Kadri area, on Sunday, in a suspected case of suicide, police sources said.
Prakash Shekha, the son of Jayaram Shekha, a renowned transportation businessman, had been managing a fleet of several buses in the city.
Prakash lived in the flat with his wife and daughter. He had been alone in his room since Sunday morning and hadn’t come for lunch. When he did not respond to calls, the door was broken and Prakash was found hanging from the ceiling fan, sources added.
Police sources said that it is suspected to be a case of suicide. The exact cause for the extreme step remains unknown.
A case has been registered in Kadri police station.
Dakshina Kannada Bus Owners’ Association President Azeez Parthipady, General Secretary Ramachandra Pilar, former presidents Jayasheela Adyanthaya, and Dilraj Alva have condoled the demise of Prakash Shekha.
According to family sources, the funeral will be held on October 2 at 4 p.m. at his house in Kulshekar.
