Mangaluru: As the “Kantara” rules pan India and beyond, proving to be a “Divine Blockbuster”, the Tulu language theatrical play “Shivadoothe Guilge” based on Guliga Daiva is all set to enthrall the people of Karnataka.
The play which is already famous in the coastal region of the state is in high demand to have shows in several districts. One of the reasons is the last 20 minutes climax scene of “Kantara” showcasing the power of Guliga Daiva.
The speciality of the play is that the role of Guliga Daiva is played by actor Swaraj Shetty, who has also featured in “Kantara” as ‘Guruva’ and played the role of Panjurli Daiva.
The Tulu play which has reached its 300th show is set to be presented in Kannada and Hindi.
However, the ‘Pardana’ (hailing the Daiva and narrating its significance) will be in the Tulu language, rest of the story narration and dialogues of the play will be in the Kannada language.
It is also learned that the demand to dub the play “Shivadoote Gulige” in Hindi has also risen.
The director of the play, Vijaykumar Kodialbail is of the view that if the Hindi version becomes a success, then a decision will be taken to dub it in Malayalam, Gujarati, and Marathi.
The “Shivadoothe Gulige” play had its first show presented on January 2, 2020.
Before, planning for “Kantara” movie shoot, Rishab Shetty met Vijaykumar and discussed Guliga Daiva in detail.
