Based on the complaint by the two cops, police investigated the case and nabbed the accused –Dyany Paul (39) and Maxim Joseph Noronha (54).

The incident happened on the night of January 18 when police constables Beerendra S Meti and Shivananda D T were returning home from work on a bike. The accused came in a car (KA18-MG-0007) and waylaid the bike near Yayyadi.

Thereafter, Paul and Noronha allegedly claimed the two constables of being fake cops and started to physically and verbally assault them. All this happened while the cops were still in their uniforms, the complaint states.
