Acting on a tip-off, the CCB Police apprehended the accused near K.C. Road in Thalapady, Mangaluru, while they were attempting to sell MDMA to the public and students in the city. The police seized 15 grams of MDMA valued at Rs 75,000, two mobile phones, a digital weighing scale, and a Dio scooter, with the total value of the seized items amounting to Rs 1.65 lakh.
A case has been registered at Ullal Police Station.
Among the accused, Abdul Salam has a previous case registered against him at Manjeshwar Police Station for drug use, while Suraj Rai has a similar case registered at Ullal Police Station.
The accused were allegedly purchasing MDMA from Kerala with the intent to make illegal profits by selling it to the public and students in the city. The investigation is ongoing, as the police believe more individuals are involved in this drug trafficking network.
