Mangaluru: Two arrested for motorbike theft

Mangaluru: Two persons were arrested for theft and recovered stolen goods from them, Barke police said.

The two have been identified as Baikampady resident Sumant Burman (19) and Puttur resident Taranath Salian (26). Both were habitual offenders with cases for several offenses including theft, robbery, drug trafficking are registered at police stations across the district, police added.

The police confiscated a stolen Hero Honda Splendor motorbike, a touchscreen phone, and a keypad mobile phone from the possession of the accused. The total value of goods is estimated to be Rs 75,000.

The motorbike recovered had been reported stolen on the intervening night of November 22 and 23 from Ballalbagh in the city. The owner of the bike had registered a complaint at the Barke Police Station.
