Mangaluru: Two arrested while peddling 13 kg of ganja

In a significant operation, the Mangalore Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have apprehended two individuals with 13 kilograms of ganja.

The accused have been identified as Abdul Sadiq (35), hailing from Panemangalore, and Nawaz (24), from Kakkinje in Belthangady.

The arrest took place near Kankanadi railway station on the evening of March 11, 2023. The accused were transporting the ganja procured from Andhra Pradesh to Mangaluru via Bengaluru.

According to police, the estimated worth of the seized ganja is Rs 3,90,000. The police also confiscated mobile phones from the accused. A case has been registered at the Kankanadi Police Station in this regard.

Police said Abdul Sadiq has previously been charged with drug trafficking and a case has been registered against him at Lashkar Mohalla Police Station in Mysuru.
