Mangaluru: Two-day event ‘Kannada Shala Makkala Habba’ to be held from Nov 19

Mangaluru: A two-day event “Kannada Shala Makkala Habba” for Kannada medium schoolchildren from class 5th to 10th will be held at the Keshava Smriti Samvardhana Samiti, Sanghanikethan, Mangaluru, from November 19.
Addressing the media, the Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, and president of the welcome committee of the event, Dr. Mohan Alva said the event was organized to create awareness about the language, literature, and culture among the youngsters. He said that the event will help improve their confidence.
As reports of TOI, on the day of the inauguration (November 19), a procession from Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College Grounds to Sanganikethan will be held.
Later, a documentary will be presented depicting the history, language, literature, and many such features of Karnataka.
The event will be comprised of games, drama, dance, talent show, food festival, interaction with literarians, and inspirational stories of achievers.
As around 15,000 students are expected to partake in the event, necessary arrangements have been made by the organizers.
Rohit Chakrathirtha will be holding an interactive session with the students, said Alva.
The event is exclusively for students of Kannada-medium schools in the Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasargod districts.
