Mangaluru, Udupi DCs order ration shops to open at 7 am during lockdown

Mangaluru: The deputy commissioners (DC) of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have ordered the ration shop owners to open their shops at 7 am during the lockdown.

The order states that the owners must issue slips or tokens to the customers and people standing in the queue must not be sent back after 10 am. Also, the use of hand sanitizers must be encouraged and Social distancing needs to be maintained at ration shops.

The store owners should not get confused and pressurize the ration card holders for bio metric authentication as Aadhar and OTP is provided.

Quantity of distribution for the month of May 2021 must be displayed. Raw and boiled rice should be distributed in equal quantities. Police personnel has been deployed to prevent crowding and maintain law and order.
