Mangaluru, Udupi: Mega Lok Adalats in twin districts settle 8,479 cases on Sat

Mangaluru, Udupi: A total of 8,479 cases were disposed off by conciliation process at the Mega Lok Adalats held in 42 different courts in Dakshina Kannada district and various other courts in Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala on Saturday.

Out of 11,160 cases in DK, 5,235 cases have been settled through the conciliation process. Compensation of Rs 6,55,80,559 was adjudged in 308 accident cases. 132 cases were settled in the pre-litigation stage. 985 people participated in the adalat’s procedure through video conferencing.

In the Udupi district, the Lok Adalats settled 3,244 cases through the conciliation process. A total of Rs 8,11,35,240 as compensation amount was declared in many cases.
