Mangaluru varsity postpones exams due to transport workers strike

Mangaluru: Mangalore University has postponed all examination that was to be held on April 7 due to the road transport workers strike.

“Due to uncertainty in the operations of the KSRTC buses, the university decided to postpone all examinations scheduled for April 7,” said the university’s Registrar (Evaluation) Dr PL Dharma.

Uday Shetty, chief of the Udupi KSRTC depot said that services of the road transport corporation in the district will continue as usual despite employees calling for a strike.

“70 KSRTC buses in the district will operate to various parts of Udupi, Kaup, Byndoor, Brahmavara, Kundapur and Karkala taluks. Employees will be on duty,” he added.
