Mangaluru: The wives of two of the 5 accused who were nabbed for robbery and murder plot, claimed their husbands were innocent and have been falsely implicated by the police in the case.
It may be recalled that Chetan Kottary and Prasad were booked by police along with notorious rowdy-sheeter Akashbhavan Sharan and others a few days ago in the case.
At a press conference, Bhagyashree, wife of Chetan Kottary, and Nikshitha, wife of Prasad, came forward to assert their husbands’ innocence in the crime.
Bhagyashree claimed that police had lodged a false case against her husband Chetan, a real estate broker, by fabricating a false narrative against him. She asserted that her husband is not involved with any kind of criminal activities
“This kind of highhanded actions by the police is harmful to the health of the society. They have nabbed innocent persons on false accusations which is against the tenets of the Indian Constitution. By projecting our husbands and families as criminal elements, they have brought infamy to our entire families,” the wifes said at the press meet.
Further, they demanded an independent probe into the allegations to bring out the truth of the matter. “We are prepared to undertake any religious vow in any of the temples or Daivasthanas about the innocence of our husbands,” they added.
