A woman has accused a group of men of assaulting her near a hotel in Lalbagh, Mangaluru, and claimed that no action has been taken despite filing a complaint with the Barke police station. Her video statement has now gone viral on social media.
According to the woman, the incident occurred on Sunday night around 9:30 PM when she, along with her family, went to the hotel for dinner. After finishing their meal around 11 PM, she went to the restroom and encountered a man inside the women’s restroom. After leaving, two other men behaved indecently towards her. She reported the incident to the cash counter, and an apology was made, resolving the issue.
However, when they returned to the parking lot, a bullet bike was parked behind their car, blocking it. While reversing the car, the man on the bike allegedly used abusive language. When her companions confronted him, a verbal altercation ensued. Soon, a group of 15-20 men gathered, and one of them assaulted her. When she questioned the assault, another man pushed her back, and yet another person threatened her life.
She tried calling the police control room, but the line was busy, so she went to the Pandeshwar Women’s Police Station. She was advised to file a complaint at the Barke Police Station, where an FIR was eventually registered.
In her video, the woman expressed concern for her safety, stating that the attackers were influential individuals who had threatened her life. She urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation and take the culprits into custody.
