Punjalakatte: Famous Yakshagana background musician, Yuvraj Acharya Kavalkatte (60), died at his home in Bantwal taluk on July 14.
Acharya is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter.
Acharya worked in different melas (Yakshagana troupes) for 15 years including Hosnagar Mela, Hiriyadka, Mangaladevi, Bappanadu and Sasihitlu.
He served as the Secretary of the Punjalakatte Government High School Alumni Association and was also a member of Reliance Cricketers and Sri Sharadamba Yuvaka Mandali.
