Mangaluru: Youth booked for abusing on duty police

Mangaluru: A police constable, on-duty at a check post in Koddekkal-Kannur escaped unhurt after miscreants tried to run over him here on May 27.

The incident took place during the SDPI program organised at Dr Shyam Prasad Shetty ground. Police Constables Puttarama, Jagadish Meta Gudde and Sangana Gowda were on duty at the check post here when few bike-borne youths and two more in a car hurled abuses at the police and drove haphazardly even trying to ram the car into constable Sangana Gowda.

Kankanady police have booked the youth under sections 143, 353, 504, and 149 of IPC.
