Mangaluru: Youth brutally attacked with weapons in a suspected gang war

Mangaluru: In suspected gang-related violence, a youth was brutally assaulted by a group of people. The incident took place under the Urwa police station limits on the night of Sunday.

The victim, identified as Shravan, was allegedly attacked by 8 goons from the Alike gang. police sources said.

It is suspected that the attack took place in retaliation against the killing of Indrajeet in 2020 in Barke. Shravan is a friend of Ankit who is the brother of an accused in the Indrajeet murder case.

Indrajeet was allegedly murdered by the Talvar Jagga gang or Boloor Gang last year.

A case under section IPC 307 is registered at the Urwa police station.
