Mangaluru: Youth dies in car-scooter collision

Mangaluru: A scooter rider was killed after being hit by a car at Yeyyadi Junction in the city.

The deceased has been identified as Somalinga (17).

The accident occurred on Monday midnight when the deceased along with another named Chtan Naika was moving towards Yeyyadi junction from Barebail on a two-wheeler to reach Kavoor. An Omni car moving towards Maryhill from KPT hit the scooter.

As a result, Somalinga was thrown onto the glass of the car and hit the divider. He succumbed to the injuries sustained at a hospital on Tuesday.

The car fled from the accident spot after the accident.

A case has been registered at the Mangaluru East police station in this regard.
