A youth from Bantwal was stabbed by two individuals from Kerala at the Mangaluru Central railway station on May 20, following an altercation over a suspected theft.
On May 19, Mohammed Naufal (21) from Kollam district, Kerala, arrived at the Central railway station in Mangaluru with his friend Anas. They met Sachin (31), a resident of Poonacha village, Bantwal. The three had dinner together and spent the night near the railway station.
The next morning, Mohammed Naufal accused Sachin of stealing his mobile phone and Rs 1000 in cash. Despite Sachin’s denials, the argument escalated, and Naufal stabbed Sachin in the stomach.
Sachin was promptly taken to the hospital and is reported to be out of danger. Naufal was arrested by officers from the city south police station, and a case has been registered against him.
