Mangaluru’s Ladyhill Circle likely to be renamed as Brahmashree Narayanaguru Circle

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation could decide to rename the Ladyhill circle in the city here to Brahmashree Narayanaguru Circle in honour of the 18th-century spiritual leader Sri Narayana Guru.

The Urban Planning and Reforms Standing Committee will be recommending the change of name of the circle to the Corporation in its next general session.

The road on which the circle is leads to the Gokarnanatha temple which was consecrated by Sri Narayana Guru in the early 20 century.

In 2003, the then Congress-ruled Corporation had decided to change the circle’s name to Sri Narayana Guru but the matter was postponed in the general session.
