Mangaluru: In a disgraceful incident, a group of drunk youths defaced a colourful rangoli drawn at an apartment complex in the Bejai area of the city.

The CCTV video clip of the purported incident has gone viral on social media inviting sharp criticism of the behaviour of the youths. MLA Vedavyas Kamath shared the video on Facebook and demanded strict action against the erring youth.

In the CCTV footage, a group of youths can be seen approaching the place where the Rangoli was drawn. One among them is seen jumping to the center of the Rangoli and erasing the ‘Happy Deepavali’ message written thereon. Another youth is seen taking a swig from, what appears to be, a beer bottle.

The youths are allegedly students from Kerala, studying in Mangaluru.  The police have reportedly already visited the spot and are investigating.
