Mangaluru: Bus services between the city and Kasargod could restart soon as the Dakshina Kannada district administration here will taking up the issue with the State government.
Bus operations between Karnataka and Kerala have been banned since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic six months ago.
It was reported that barriers in resuming the inter-State bus operations were coming from the Kerala government as they do not wish to open the State borders now given the COVID-19 situation in Karnataka.
The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation had earlier written to Kerala government’s Transport Department on the issue of resumption of buses.
The district administration is waiting for reports from the State’s Transport Department and the KSRTC on the issues in restarting buses between the two cities based on which it will appraise the State government.
