Manipal: 2 law students apprehended for MDMA possession

Manipal: A special team led by Manipal Police Inspector Devaraj T.V. and under the guidance of District Superintendent of Police (SP) Hakay Akshay Machhindra apprehended two law students who were reportedly trying to sell methamphetamine (MDMA), a banned drug.

The operation took place on a public road near an apartment in Eshwara Nagar of Herga village, falling under the jurisdiction of Manipal police station.

The arrested have been identified as Nibish (23) and Amal (22), both hailing from Kerala and pursuing their education at a law college in the city. However, another accomplice by the name of Afsin managed to escape the scene.

During the operation, police seized 7.3 grams of MDMA worth Rs 35,00, along with a KTM Duke bike worth Rs 1.25 lakhs and two mobile phones worth Rs 1 lakh.
