Manipal: N V Ballal, who served at MAHE for 69 years, no more!

Manipal: Secretarial coordinator of MAHE Chancellor Dr. Ramdas Pai, N.V. Ballal (Nidambur Venkataramana Ballal) passed away on August 27 at Manipal Hospital. He was 91.

Ballal began his service as the personal secretary to Dr. TMA Pai when KMC Manipal was founded. He served the institution for 69 long years, until August 9, 2022. Ballal was known for his strong command of the English language and expert use of short-hand.

Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education(MAHE) Dr. Ramdas M Pai, Chairman of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG) Dr. T Ranjan Pai, MAHE Pro-Chancellor Dr. H S Ballal, MAHE Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, and MAHE Registrar Dr. Narayana Sabhahit, among others, have expressed their condolences.
