Manipal: Panic as Leopard chases dog inside residential compound

Manipal: A leopard was spotted inside the compound of a house in Perampalli on Friday, July 28 late night, causing panic among the residents.
The residents noticed their dog barking outside but refrained from opening the door. After a while, the barking ceased. Aware of recent leopard sightings in the Manipal area, the family stayed inside. In the morning, when they reviewed their CCTV footage, they saw the leopard chasing their dog, which left them terrified.
The dog, which had gone missing overnight, reappeared in the morning, apparently having escaped from the leopard.
This incident has instilled fear among the residents of Manipal and Perampalli. They have appealed to the forest department to take appropriate measures to address the situation.
