Manipal: “India has led the world on the issue of terrorism. The countries who consider terrorism as their tool know well that India does not unnecessarily tease any country, and it knows how to give a befitting reply to those who tease India”, said Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

He said this addressing the Convocation Ceremony of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) on Friday, November 18.

The minister gave an insight into the start-up culture before and after 2014.

He said that the start-ups which were only a handful in the country have now exceeded 70,000.

He also took pride in saying that the big players in the world carefully listen and pay attention to what India has to say today.

The minister recalled India’s scientific and technological capability in ancient times.

He said that the concepts of ‘zero’ and the quadratic equation were contributions of India to the world.

Meanwhile, he stressed the importance of both theoretical and practical education.

He said that one should not only have knowledge but also wisdom.
