Udupi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal held a protest in front of the District Collector’s office in Manipal on Monday against the recent decision by the state Congress government to withdraw the anti-conversion law. The protestors expressed their discontent and contempt towards the state government for what they perceived as an “anti-Hindu” policy.

Addressing the crowd, Sri Rajasekharananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Matha accused the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of engaging in politics of appeasement and following an “anti-Hindu policy.” He emphasized the importance of exercising power responsibly, working for societal upliftment and community development, and urged the state government to abandon its approach towards Hinduism.

Swamiji also called upon the pontiffs of the state to unite in protecting the Hindu society.

VHP leader Sunil K.R., in his speech, highlighted their opposition to the move to repeal the anti-conversion law by the state government. He alleged that the government was promoting an “anti-Hindu agenda”.  He demanded an immediate reversal of the government’s decision and expressed their determination to fight against it.

The protest witnessed the participation of prominent leaders and members from the BJP and various Hindu organizations. Vishnumurthy Acharya, VHP district Dinesh Mendon, MLAs Yashpal Suvarna, Gururaj Gantihole, former MLA Raghupati Bhat, BJP district president Kuilady Suresh Nayak, and K.
