Manjeshwar MLA Abdul Razak dies at 63

Manjeshwar: PB Abdul Razak,  second term MLA from Manjeshwar Constituency died owing to heart-related ailments in the wee hours of Saturday, October 20. He was 63.

The Indian Union Muslim League representative breathed his last at around 5.30 am today in a private hospital where he was undergoing treatment for his health. He is survived by his wife, one son and three daughters.

Razak embarked on his political career as an activist of the IUML in 1967. In 2011, he defeated the then MLA C.H. Kunhambu of CPM  to get elected, for the first time, as MLA of Manjeshwar constituency. In 2016, he was re-elected from the same constituency by defeating BJP’s K Surendran with a mere margin of 89 votes.

He has earlier served as the president of Chengala gram panchayat.

The funeral will be held today at Alampady Jumma Masjid.
